Dining Out

I know I normally blog about health and such but every once in a while I like to mix it up and share other experiences in my life. Before I began to write, I was in the restaurant/nightclub business, and still am to a point, and wanted to share something important.

Being the part of any business is time consuming and demanding. Owning a successful business does not give you a licence to “not care or pay attention”. It is actually very very demanding for those who have no experience in owning their own business or idea . You have to be there to keep an eye on things and make certain everyone is doing their job. Being visible and having your hands in it are keys to success as far as I am concerned. Nobody just hands you success, you must earn it. Our gift to our customers was, and still is, caring for their experience with us and assuring them each visit will be the same and we will always be around to say hello and treat them as family.

With that said, numerous places we go to dine are missing this link. I may not be an authority but when there is no visible manager or owner checking on things, watching the food, staff, and most important their money, it definitely shows!!! I do not get it. It unnerves me to sit and notice that in my opinion, “no one cares.” Of course, when I worked, there were definitely times I could not be there but we always had someone visible to tend to something, for a customer to go to with an issue, or just to say hello. I feel sad that we are losing this link to society and to our dining experiences. I ask all of you who own a business to re-check yourselves. Why are you wanting to be an owner and be a part of a social experience when you choose not be be there? Just an honest question to those who I feel may not really care. serving soup
