Celebrating July 4th

We all enjoy a good party, barbeque, and parade, but we do not want to miss the true meaning of each and every holiday. July 4th is the celebration of our country and the freedom that each of us experiences every day we are here. Since most of us have never known anything other than how we live, I know that we take it for granted (even me). There are rules and laws we all must follow, but that is typically for our own safety and to add order to the country, but when we wake up every day, we have so many choices it’s hard to imagine that others outside of the U.S., do not. We can pick what we eat, where to shop, our careers, how we spend our money, where we live, what doctors we can use, how we pray, the list goes on and on forever to eternity. Yes, we have lots and lots of flaws, but try waking to nothing to eat, drink, not a dime to your name, selling your child to survive, fear to leave your home, how we pray, and that list too goes on and on forever to eternity. You can be killed just for believing in something else, where we get to defend it even if most others do not agree. Wake up every day and say “Thank You” to our soldiers, our freedoms, and our choices to protect our children and families. Take a moment to think about even the simplest things in your daily routine.
