Positive Attitude?

September is Leukemia and Lymphoma Awareness Month, but since it is also childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and since I try to focus on whatever the month is and raising awareness for each illness if possible, I figured that we could bring attention to Leukemia and Lymphoma in August.

What I do want to share right now is that Leukemia, cancer of any kind, or even dealing with a broken bone, trying to stay positive is very, very difficult. I want all of you to know that my book Everything’s Okay, although it tries to keep all of you fully aware of all I have been through, things are not always OKAY. It takes a lot of work, either through professionals, family, friends, or just trying to refocus yourself to keep a good attitude. Personally, I have been battling problems that have developed from my childhood long ago and all of my surgeries. I now have to rethink all that I do and everywhere I go because they have told me that “there is nothing they can do to prevent me from having obstructions from happening again”. So, for me, I am personally struggling to keep my mind set and stay focused and positive. Waking up every day makes me wonder if today is the day it may happen again. How can I live life like this? I know I will overcome this feeling of desperation and sadness but I want all of you to know, even I, the person who lives life to the fullest and finds a positive in everything, struggles too.

Thanks for listening and understanding. We are all human and have to deal with things we do not want to but we will conquer.
