Funny how things work out for those of us who are patient.
I have been running foundations for years and have learned to love and appreciate all of my volunteers for whatever time, effort, and energy they can give. Some can only help out once a year, others try to be there for me whenever I need them and shoot out desperate emails for help. No matter what the situation I am always covered and we always mange to enjoy whatever task I lay out for us. The bottom line is that some things are more difficult to handle than others but whoever joins me always seems content and happy to contribute in whatever way they are needed. I recently had one of my younger volunteers join me for an early morning event at a small bagel restaurant nearby. Not only did we have a wonderful breakfast together, we chatted with all the locals who stopped by for coffee or bagels early in the day, and managed to sell quite a few books and raffle tickets for our Bermuda Cruise. I want to personally thank William for dragging himself out of bed on a Saturday morning from his warm dorm room and meeting me so very early. A special thank you to all of my volunteers–I simply could not do it without you.
