I have been thinking about my visit to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia the other day for the Pediatric Stroke Conference and what a very touching and emotional day it was for me. I was invited to speak and for me personally, it felt as though I came full circle when I stepped up on the stage to speak. After spending so much of my childhood as a patient at CHOP, I was finally able to “cross over to the other side” there as someone who can help. My husband and I and my Foundation have been sending money there for research and for the needs of the patients for as many years as we have been together. I know I can have my voice heard as well. Personally this meant more to me in some ways than all those donations because I could see, feel and become a part of the families who attended this conference. I look forward to sharing more of these experiences with all of you as they come about, and I hope I can continue making a difference.
