For the past few years I have done a few walks benefitting Breast Cancer in October but the one that holds a special place in my heart is the walk at Cooper River Park in New Jersey.
My friend Nancy who has recently passed was a regular there with her husband and for the past 3 years I have attended too. Since Nancy had become ill, we planned that her husband and I would walk for her, but now that she is gone, he and I, along with a group of close friends are walking in Nancy’s memory. Nancy was so very full of life and in participating in this walk, we are honoring her. It only seems right to try to live up to her standards and give her something to watch over this weekend. We will walk for her and all those others who fight every single day to overcome their battle with cancer, no matter what kind they may have. For those who have not made it, we walk for you as well and will represent you and all that life stands for. In Memory of All who have lost their battle, and in honor or those who continue to keep up the fight- I salute you!
