Scary Experience

There we were, my good friend, sister and cousin, flying home from a relaxing girls weekend in Florida. The entire flight was turbulent and not very enjoyable like most of my flights.

About half and hour before we are due to land, the pilot announces that the storms in Atlantic City are so severe, we are going to circle until they pass, but not to worry, ” we have plenty of gas.” That alone made us a bit uneasy, but we had to leave this in the hands of professionals. About 15 minutes later, he announces to buckle up, we are going to land. I was seated with my girlfriend, my sister and cousin about 10 rows ahead, and my husband was seated alone, returning also on our same flight from working the weekend. I look at my friend, and we laugh, but it was truly a nervous one and together, we do not verbally share our thoughts, but it was easy to see we were both a bit concerned. I will tell you first, it was the worst landing experience I have ever had, so very turbulent that many people, including a young baby about 2 years old began to vomit in our section. It was very emotional and scary to witness, and I began to feel a bit uneasy but not to the point of sickness. Upon landing, which was very rough, when we saw my sister and cousin, my sister was faint-like and everyone was very shook up.

This experience will not stop me from flying, but will make me memorize the safety instructions front and back, but today, I am here, typing on my computer and telling my story. So, just when you think something is so very horrible, reality checks back in and tells you how ……. Very Lucky You Are!
