A Book Review

I just finished reading Carmen Tarteton’s book, Overcome: Burned, Blinded, and Blessed. It was written and published by the same company and publishers I work with RTC. The feelings, strength, and courage  that Carmen shared, the most intimate details anyone could possibly share, is nothing short of awe inspiring.  Carmen is more than a hero. She is unlike anyone I have ever read about or met and she deserves all the success and happiness that sharing her story can give her. I understand she wrote this...

A Recent Movie

My husband and I recently saw The Fault in Our Stars, the story of two young people dying of cancer who happen to fall in love. I felt the need to share this with everyone since this movie, in particular, really hit home for me personally. Yes, I was ill as a child. I often blog about my dog and all the dogs that we have had throughout my life. There is nothing like having a dog (or any pet for that matter). When you are ill, or have an ill person  in your home, especially a child...

Travel, in some capacity, is something most of us enjoy. Some of us like short day trips, mini-weekend getaways, exotic vacations, or longer breaks over a week or two. Personally, I enjoy going away. Planning how to pack. Accepting the challenge not to over-weigh the suitcase. It has become an adventure to fly while bringing only what you need. There’s no room for error unless you want to pay a hefty price. Driving is nice, making the road trip an adventure all on its own. Whatever you decide, whatever your...

Father’s Day

Father’s Day

Every year for the past, maybe, 7-8 years, we have had a Fathers Day shindig at our home. We invite the entire family and a couple of close friends over for a late afternoon barbeque, just to all be together. We do not always throw this on Fathers Day proper, but try to pick a Sunday in June that all can try to attend. Good food, drinks and desserts flow in and out of our house along with swimming, sunning, catching up, and just plain hanging out. Seems like everyone looks forward to this gathering including even...
