Be Thankful

There are times, even for myself, that I wonder with all of the stress, what do I have to be thankful for. It takes me a few minutes in all the stress of everyday life for me to stop and remember that I have so very much to be thankful for. Not just the one day out of the year that we celebrate Thanksgiving, but every day I am here on earth smiling and giving. I personally thank each day I am healthy and have life and for the love of my family and close friends. Although I still have health issues that at times...

Happy Hannukkah

It may be a bit early, or so it seems, but Hannukkah is upon us and even beating out Thanksgiving this year. For those of you who celebrate this tradition enjoy the week of gifts and treats and embrace your children even a bit more while doing this. My name is Kelly and almost 22 years ago, also at the age of 7, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia. I finished my treatment in 1994 and have been cancer free ever since, with no long term side effects; naturally I count myself extremely lucky as many children I became friends with did not have similar outcomes. I’m now a mother of 2 and I’m 29 in December...

Imerman Angel

I joined the Imerman Angels to become a mentor a while back but have not had a computer match until now. I finally got a call from them with my first person who is going through similar things with her health as I do and I had a chance to call her this past week. It was a nice feeling to think of myself as an angel with a mission and an assignment. My job – to listen, support, and let that person know she is not alone. There is someone else out there that had been through it, knows your pain, and is here to...
