Coping

So we have experienced the “news” and now we need to cope with the reality of what we will be learning and dealing with. Once a child is diagnosed and you have all your opinions and plan of attack for the duration of the treatments. How will we handle this? Who can we ask for help? How will this unfold? Will this effect the other children? These are some questions you will have running through your head and trying to answer with a few deep breathes. Family

Summer is “officially” over and as we welcome in fall,  I thought it would be nice to reflect on family  We are soon to be approaching holiday time and that means family time to most of us. First we may be mad at the diagnosis since it will disrubt the entire family...

School Time

With everyone starting school all over the country, I thought I would reflect on my days and being ill and getting ready for school. It was a wonderful time of year with hair cuts, new clothing, shoes, coats ready for winter and all the new school supplies, that even when I was ill this was exciting for everyone in the family. I would try to block out the fact that I was a bit slower than my friends on the playground, and that I could not always be in class, so that I would savor every day I could be there. I...
