A Holiday Reflection

I have been through such an unusual year that it gives me this opportunity to reflect and share with all of you what I personally think is important. I was hospitalized not long after my big charity event in May, spending 8 miserable days in the hospital, but blessed enough not to need any surgery. We had extensive damage under our home during theHurricane Irene not too long ago, and then lost our entire first floor and two cars to Hurricane Sandy. It seems to me that all of the events mentioned escalated and were...

Sometimes it may feel like you are left juggling what should be vs. what needs to be. Dealing with an extremely sick child or family member with surgeries, treatments, and such is so very challenging by itself, just adding a stressful holiday like Hanukkah and Christmas into the mix can add more family stress and unreasonable expectations. Things can be...

Holiday Stress

Holiday Stress

I think I often blog about this before the holidays, it seems to be an approiate time to put everyone into check. We all fall into that unwelcome stress right around this time of year, no matter how hard we try not to. Getting caught up in family, family expectations, entertaining, etc. seems to be bigger than life at this time and I would like to share a few secrets with you to help “pull through” with shining colors. First of all, under completely normal circumstances the stress brought on can make...
