Very Exciting

A few days ago when I opened our newspaper, it was exciting to see that a local girl won Miss New Jersey. I have been friends, both personally and through business, with her older brother for years and I am certain that he and the entire family are bubbling over with pride and excitement over this accomplishment. Lindsey Petrosh has accomplished a lot in her short life and this is a big deal for both her personally and for the local recognition in our area. She has followed all of the stepping stones and won them...

Clean Bill of Health

Due to my experience in the hospital, the surgeon decided to do another MRI to check things out. This particular one covered my pelvis and abdomen and took about 1-1/2 hours (not fun). This was to take an extensive look at exactly what is going on inside, making certain nothing was missed. Well, the good news is…I can take a deep breath and relax a little. Being Patient

One thing I have learned from being ill as a child is patience. For some reason, it may go hand in hand with being sick or just months of being exposed to hospital beds, surgeries, tests, and such, along with the ongoing forever “waiting”. Yes, I said waiting. Waiting for results, waiting for appointments, waiting for doctors, nurses, bloodwork, waiting rooms, hospital beds…need I say more? I recently was admitted through emergency to the hospital for an 8 day stint and found myself, all those...

How Do YOU Give Back?

On June 29th, the volunteers from The Alesia Shute Foundation will be getting together to bring dinner up to the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey. This is one of our favorite outings and we look forward to dining and meeting all the families who will be staying there that week. Although it is a Friday, and some families may opt to stay a bit later at the hospitals, we will enjoy those who are there, share our prayers, and listen to their stories. I will be gifting my books to everyone who is...

I Need Your Help

I Need Your Help

Most of you know I was recently hospitalized with a bowel obstruction and I need your help! I am almost 100% and am just about able to do everything I did before I became ill, but something is missing. I still tire halfway through the day and am lucky enough that most of the time I can lie down for half an hour to regroup. The main problem is, that although I am doing mostly everything I did before, I feel I have lost some of my spunk. For those of you that know me personally, I think you may understand what I...
