Remembering Christmas In the Hospital

There was one year I spent Christmas and Hanukkah in CHOP. It seemed kind of strange that everyone was out and about shopping, dining, going to holiday parties, and decorating, while I lay in the hospital recovering. I was about 14 years old and was on the mend but not quite ready to be at home. Everyone came to see me which was very nice, and CHOP gave us gifts. Santa came for a few visits, and there was plenty of food and fun punches for us to drink. They managed to make the holidays very pleasant for those of...

Holidays are Coming

With the stress of the upcoming holiday season, it is understandable that we all need to take a step back and a deep breath! Understanding Feelings

FaceBook

I have been on Facebook probably for a short time every day to scroll down, find out what is happening on my Author page and give out kind words to families that are suffering greatly especially at this time of year. I am overwhelmed at the amount of people on my page that are truly suffering from dealing with sick children, to dealing with the untimely death of a child. It is staggering to face this and I pray for each and every one of them and their families. I want to reach out and hug everyone real tight and...

Volunteers

Funny how things work out for those of us who are patient. I have been running foundations for years and have learned to love and appreciate all of my volunteers for whatever time, effort, and energy they can give. Some can only help out once a year, others try to be there for me whenever I need them and shoot out desperate emails for help. No matter what the situation I am always covered and we always mange to enjoy whatever  task I lay out for us. The bottom line is that some things are more difficult to handle...
