Evening of Inspiration – See You Soon!

I do hope that I will have a chance to meet some of you at my 4th Annual “Evening of Inspiration” this Saturday at Mays Landing Country Club. What a pleasure and an experience this past year has been! As the evening’s keynote speaker, I look forward to sharing all about it. It is a night not to be missed with an art auction (a new feature of the evening this year) and over $7,500 given away in CASH, not to mention dinner, dancing and an open bar. Signed copies of both of my books will be...

Seth’s Bar Mitzvah

What a wonderful experience for someone to be brought into adulthood in such a nice way. Seth is a special man and he and his family have been so very generous and wonderful to me and to my foundation. We had the pleasure of attending his older brothers bar mitzvah a couple of years ago and now, it was Seth’s turn. He, like his brother, did an outstanding job in synagogue followed by some fun gathering, this time a bowling party. All of his friends and family attended and we had a great time. This family,...

Fundraising Fun

I had been contacted by some very good friends about their son Seth and his Bar Mitzvah. He has been raising money for his Mitzvah project and donating it to my foundation. If you remember, his older brother did the same and it was not only a wonderful experience to be involved with this and with his family, it was also very heartwarming. You will be able to go to his FB page to donate to this cause and for every $20 donation you will recieve a chance to be in our yearly raffle. This year we are giving out $5000...

Better to Give (Back) than to Receive

Did we not learn about helping others as children in order to feel good about ourselves? I can’t even count how many times I heard, “it’s better to give than to receive”! I think that is one of the most important things I learned as a child and is part of the reason why I have been helping others throughout my life. Since I met my husband, we make a habit of doing this together. It can be as small as noticing a neighbor and taking out their trash or baking them a cake to donate to a...

Cutting The Cheese

Cutting The Cheese

I was a guest at Bagliana’s Market on Friday night and they asked me to come by, sign books, and sell raffle tickets. They loved the idea of gifting the $5000 first prize and $2500 second prize in CASH! In this economy, or any for that matter, who would not like to win some cash?!?! Odds are so much better than the lottery, so donate at the end of this blog for your chance. The big cheese cutting was quite different than any other event I have ever been too, as a guest or working. This sharp provolone was...

Wells Fargo Grant

Last Thursday, my husband and I attended a Community Partners Breakfast from Wells Fargo and my foundation received a $1000 grant. The Alesia Shute Foundation, along with about 40 other small foundations and non-profits, were honored and it was such a wonderful experience. We are all caught up in our lives, our problems, and our families, so this morning it was nice to sit back and meet so many people who wake up every day and volunteer their time to help others. I know all the work I do to make my foundation run...
